Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC or Congo) is still recovering economically from a series of conflicts and an economic slump due to the global economic crisis, both situations that have negatively impacted the health infrastructure and health status of the population. In 2015, DRC’s under-5 deaths totaled 304,558. Many of these deaths are attributed to pneumonia, diarrhea, and malaria.

TRAction supports a study on community-level management of unclassified fever, which is being implemented by the International Rescue Committee and Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in the Tanganyika District of DRC.
