With sixty-three percent of Niger's population living below the poverty level, and women making up two thirds of that figure, the country struggles with access to education, healthcare, and basic services such as clean water and improved sanitation facilities. The under 5 mortality rate in 2012 was 114 per 1,000 live births.

TRAction is working on improving Integrated Community Case Management in Niger to address access to treatment of childhood illnesses.
