Kendra provides technical support for TRAction's research activities, projects, and reports.
Kendra N. Williams, MPH, PhD (candidate) is an international health professional who focuses on strategies and interventions for promoting health behavior change. Through six years working in the field of international health, Kendra developed skills in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, developing research protocols, obtaining ethical approval, creating data collection tools, interacting with local and international partners, and disseminating lessons learned. She has supported research projects under the USAID Translating Research into Action Project (TRAction) in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Indonesia, India, and Guatemala, focused on the issues of water, sanitation and hygiene, household air pollution, equitable access to health services, and malaria prevention. She has experience developing technical briefs summarizing lessons learned from research projects, organizing training workshops on research methodology, developing Requests for Applications and reviewing proposals, highlighting key findings with web-based tools, and publishing research papers and journal special issues. Kendra has a Master’s in Public Health in Global Maternal and Child Health from Tulane University. She is currently pursuing a PhD at Johns Hopkins University in the Social and Behavioral Interventions program of the International Health Department. Her work focuses on the issue of household air pollution, specifically on measuring and assessing the factors influencing adoption of clean cooking technologies in Peru and Nepal.
