Sebastian Bauhoff

Sebastian has been a technical lead for TRAction’s projects on Results-Based Management and Incentives for Quality since January, 2014. He was the principal author on TRAction's recently completed study "Developing and Applying a Quality of Care Diagnostic."

Sebastian Bauhoff is a research fellow at the Center for Global Development.  He is a health economist studying competitive health-care markets, provider behavior, and policies to improve risk protection.  Bauhoff’s current research focuses on innovative payment systems, such as results-based financing, and accountability interventions, such as citizen report cards.  His prior work includes quantitative evaluations of medical insurance in Georgia; a voucher program in India; and performance-based financing in Rwanda.
Bauhoff completed a PhD in Health Policy/Economics and a MPA in International Development at Harvard University.  From 2011-2014, he worked as economist at the RAND Corporation and served on the faculty of the Pardee RAND Graduate School.
